Productivity software company Visibility wanted to wow a large conference audience. Intelliscape was hired to produce a corporate motion picture that used the metaphor of a sinking boat for the executive who spent so much time working in his business he never stepped out to see the big picture. After the lights faded up and the film played out to big laughs, the executive was speaking to the audience when the soaked fisherman came on stage to remind him not to do that any more and use the tools from Visibility. There are many studies that show retention is improved with the use of humor.
